For making initial contact with your future employer, you should be as well prepared. Questions about your career goals or your qualifications for the job, you can not avoid them. For a phone call it’s important to be well prepared, how the conversation proceeds and what issues play a role? If you are thoroughly organised, you should feel safe enough to have the answers quickly at hand and ready.
For both, phone call and interview applies: hold no long monologues, but talk accurately and in a few sentences each. Concentrate on the essential, and do not bore your partner with your conversation, it is no training course that has no direct relation to the proposed activity. Ask the questions about the job and the company that you think are important. Look at the answers to any key terms, you might find clues about the culture and corporate identity of a company.
